Boston Urban Action Shooters January 12 Match
« on: December 24, 2013, 01:03:48 PM »
Is anyone interested in riding down and shooting this match with me?  They have space for a limited number of shooters, so I'd need to let match director Donna Major know in advance how many of us to expect.

If you haven't shot with Donna at Harvard or at Area 7, she a great person and one of the cool ladies of the sport.

what club do they shoot out of for those matches?
My AR becomes an asault weapon the moment they try to take it.

They shoot at Mystic Valley Gun Club in Malden.  I got the last opening for the January match - they have a waiting list.  You can email Donna at deehmah@aol.com if you want to go on the list.

Just got back from this match - a fun day.  The range has two shooting rooms separated by a steel wall, so two squads can shoot at once.  The steel wall also lets poppers and plates to be part of the stage.  There were 40 shooters in all, and I had Craig Phillips and Craig Buckland on my squad.

A fun match - I used my new 147 gain Bayou bullets with 3.1 grains of Titegroup.  A nice, smooth recoiling load.

I also had a chance to talk with Rob Boudrie and got this scuttlebutt:

The date and location of the Area 7 match has not been set.

Ezwinscore is being retired this year, perhaps as early as this spring.  Practiscore will allow one button upload to USPSA.

Classifier scores will be updated weekly.

A USPSA ap is being developed.

New members will get their USPSA number as soon as they submit their payment on line.

The USPSA website is getting a complete overhaul as is the NE Section portion of the website.

Glad to hear that EZWin will be a distant memory!  Updating the classifiers weekly will be another huge improvement.

I am still going to remain hopeful that Sig will host the A7 match again.  Area 51 was great for this type of event.  Doesn't sound good though.

It would be a shame not to have another year of Area 7 at Sig. They did such an awesome job, I can only imagine that this year would be that much better. We are expecting our second child around the end of Aug. so a quick down and back may be doable. But a NY match would be much harder to swing. Harvard would be Okay also.

With gun laws the way they are in NY now, I doubt they will ever hold another Area match there.

I don't see an area match in NY anytime soon, either. Where has Area 7 been hel other than Harvsrd or Sig?
